Ava is a talented middle-distance runner and member of the M11 training group. After winning silver in the 800m at the 2019 English Schools Championships, Ava continued to develop her ambitions on the national and international stage.

In 2023, Ava represented Great Britain at the European U20 Championships, finishing 10th in the 1500m. She progressed further in 2024, claiming her first national title in the British U20 indoor 800m and recording back-to-back personal bests in the heats and final of the British Senior Championships 1500m. Later that year, she represented Great Britain at the World U20 Championships in Peru, finishing fifth in the 1500m.

Ava made her senior Great Britain debut at the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships before finishing 10th later that year in the 1500m at the European U23 Championships. She also secured a bronze medal as part of Great Britain's mixed relay team at the European Cross Country Championships.

Ava continued her progression in 2026, setting personal bests of 4:01.78 over 1500m and 2:00.61 over 800m. She finished fourth at the British Indoor Championships and fifth at the British Outdoor Championships before being selected to represent Wales at the Commonwealth Games and placing sixth in the women's mile.
