Amber Anning

Amber is a double Olympic medallist and one of Britian's most exciting 200/400m talents. She won bronze medals in both the women's and mixed 4x400m relays at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and set a British 400m record of 49.29 in the individual final. Across that week she broke three British records, becoming one of only two British women to do so at a single Games, the other being Mary Rand in 1964.

Amber came through the junior ranks with podium finishes at the Commonwealth Youth Games and European U20 Championships. Aged just 18 she helped Gret Britain to relay honours at the European Indoor Championships establishing herself at senior level.

She moved to the United States collegiate system, first with LSU and then the University of Arkanses, where she was part of record breaking relay squads and claimed NCAA titles while completing her degree. In 2024 Amber also became the British Indoor record holder over 200m (22.60) breaking Katharine Merry's 25 year old mark.

In 2025 she became the first British woman to win a world indoor 400m title.

Amber competes professionally for Nike and trains under coach Chris Johnson in Fayetteville, Arkanses. From the age of 16 she was coached by the late Lloyd Cowan MBE and she supports the bursary established in his name to remove barriers for young unfunded athletes and coaches. Amber asked Nike to include ths support in her contract and is able to offer bursary recipients access to kit and equipment, contributing to more than 200 awards to date.
