Swimming

Hector is an open water swimmer, competing over 10km and 25km distances. He qualified for Tokyo 2020 winning the 10km event in Setubal, Portugal sprinting away in the final stages of the two hour race. Unfortunately, an elbow to the eye forced his retirement from the race in Tokyo. An accomplished pool swimmer, Hector finished in the top seven in each of the 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle races in the 2022 British Championships. A lifelong vegetarian, Hector recently moved back from Montpellier, France to train in Loughborough. In September 2023 Hector swam the 10.5 mile length of Windermere in just 3h 40m 28s setting a new record.
